Desktop Support Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of desktop systems, and resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level technical support for desktop, laptop, and peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining user accounts, permissions, and passwords.
  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Document and track issues, resolutions, and escalate when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of all hardware and software resources.
  • Support the deployment and management of desktop images and software updates.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting and support.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on software applications and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a desktop support or IT support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac OS environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
  • Experience with network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Certification in CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar is a plus.
